Group Executive Members

Members of the Group Executive Committee support the Group Scout Leader and ensures the effective administration of the Scout Group.  They also act as charity trustees for Group. See the page the role of the Group Executive for more details.

Training Requirements

The following members of the Group Executive must complete Module 1: Essential Information:

  • Chair
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Communications Manager

Completing Module 1 is encouraged but not required for all other Executive Committee posts.

Completing the Training

Module 1 aims to provide all adults in scouting with the essential information needed to get started in their role. It covers the following topics:

  • The Fundamentals of Scouting
  • Structure and support
  • Safety in Scouting
  • Safeguarding: child protection
  • Safeguarding: anti-bullying

It can be completed online now (no registration required).
At the end of the course you can save or print a certificate which acts as proof of completion.
