Bring a Parent Night

Cooking over wood

There was a great turn out at the Cubs ‘Bring a Parent Night’. The visitors were treated to displays of backwoods skills, fed home made soup with bread twists and entertained with traditional camp fire sketches.

Thanks to Tony Winters for the pictures.

The Hardest Questions

Planning

In the third of our section briefings, tonight we spoke to the Cubs and their parents. Thankfully this time we were spared heavy rain.

We answered a range of questions about our plans for the hut and the surrounding land – parents were keen to ensure that we had undertaken suitable environmental surveys to ascertain the flood risk. Perhaps the trickiest questions came from the Cubs who wanted to know every last detail of the construction!

Meeting the Parents

Tonight leaders from all sections joined members of the Group Executive and parents at the Baptist Church to discuss the plans for the new hut.
A similar event will be held at the Scout Hut on Friday for parents of Scouts, and on Monday for Cubs’ parents.
