The 1st Stocksfield Scout Group welcomes new adult and youth members (male and female) in all sections. Scouting by its very nature is an organisation that embraces diversity. We strongly believe that all individuals have a right to be treated fairly, regardless of their age, gender, socio-economic status, ability, sexual orientation, ethnicity or faith and beliefs. Young People
We have places for potential Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. If you want to learn more about the different Sections first, use any of these links:
- Ages 6 to 8 – Beavers
- Ages 8 to 10½ – Cubs
- Ages 10½ to 14 – Scouts
Sadly because of high levels of demand, some sections currently have a waiting list.
We have regularly benefited from young people volunteering to help with a section through the Scout Associations’s Young Leaders Scheme, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, etc. If you are interested in getting involved in this way now, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Group Scout Leader.
Adults
The Group welcomes adult volunteers. There are many opportunities – as well as uniformed leaders, there are opportunities to join the Group Executive Committee or help occasionally in a particular area of interest/expertise. There are also lots of opportunities to help ‘behind the scenes’ too. We can be very flexible to fit in with your availability. Cubs are currently limited in their ability to accept more people because we have reached the maximum child to leader ratio. Joining as a leader guarantees your child a place!

Application Form
If you want to join the Group, please use our Online Joining Form to add the young person’s details securely to our Waiting List. When we can offer them a place in the Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop the leaders will move this information across to the relevant Section.
