Former Stocksfield Scout, Stephen Harpin, is joining a crew of eight in early November to attempt to beat the 32 day world record for rowing across the Atlantic from Gran Canaria to Barbados – a distance of 2598 nautical miles!

He is raising money for the new hut – please sponsor him.

Once the boat leaves the safety of the harbour, the team will be on their own and at the mercy of the elements. We hope that Stephen  will be able to make use of all the experiences he gained through Scouting to ensure that he and his colleagues make it safely across the Atlantic.

We will keep you updated about his progress.

On the afternoon of Sunday the 17th August, Philippa Harpin will be holding a ‘home-made tea with a stroll round the garden’ in aid of the Stocksfield Scout Hut Fund. Doors open at 3.00pm with last serving at 5.00pm.

The annual Scout Jumble Sale will be held at SICA (Stocksfield Community Association) – Mount View Terrace, Stocksfield, NE43 7HL. Doors open at 2 pm.

Jumble will be collected from local addresses on Friday 4th July from 6 pm. It can also be delivered direct to SICA on Saturday between 10 and 11 am. No computers or large furniture please as these do not sell.

Jumble will be collected from houses in Stocksfield on Friday 21st of June from 6pm.
Donations can also be delivered to SICA on Saturday the 22nd between 10 and 11 am.
